Antifreeze

Vehicle Air Conditioning: Antifreeze

If the cooling system in your vehicle starts to give off a sweet smell, then you should have your air conditioning unit checked immediately. The sweet smell that comes out of your air conditioning unit is often caused by the antifreeze. It is a liquid, usually based on ethylene glycol, which can be added to water to lower the freezing point, mostly used in the radiator of a motor vehicle. It is a toxic liquid and the sweet smell it releases is very bad for your health. The sweet smell is the result of a leak in the cooling system. The leak can also come from the heater core pipe. When you start to notice this smell, you should avoid using your air conditioning unit frequently and have it checked right away. This way, you will avoid getting sick and will have a safer and more comfortable driving experience.
